The origins of Reiki
Reiki is the transfer of energy through the positioning of one’s hands on or over the body.
The aim of practising it is to help others or oneself. Reiki can be practised on other people but self treatment is also possible.
Reiki harmonises the person’s energy and reduces energy blockages. It strengthens the body’s self-healing capacity and well being. “Reiki” is a Japanese term usually translated as” universal life energy”.
It is not a therapy and practising reiki is not a medical act. It cannot solve all problems but it does help a lot.
Reiki is not a religion. It can be practised by people of any religion and people of any religion can receive treatment. Even people who don’t believe in it can practice or receive treatment and feel a beneficial effect.
