How does Reiki works

Le ciel gelé se lézarde

Et son souffle entre et sort

De mon corps immobile.

Jean-Pierre Chupin

Reiki practitioners believe that every living being is itself able to recover its physiological and psychological balance, whatever the cause of the disturbance, external or internal. This explanation, or rather this hypothesis, rests on the belief that there is a form of energy which reiki enables us to channel and direct towards the needs of any living being, animal or vegetable.

During the teaching accompanying the initiations, different hypotheses will be evoked in greater detail, even though no single conclusion can be reached.

Although it has not been validated by scientific experiment, reiki is now successfully practiced by a large number of people. Personal observation and numerous trustworthy accounts of personal experience tend to increase its credibility.

As regards the practice of reiki on oneself (self-treatment), it may be assimilated to a meditation technique. No one today contests the beneficial effects of such exercises on the general well-being and health of the people who practice them.

Exciting scientific research has been conducted on people meditating or praying, measuring positive effects on blood pressure, stress reactions, etc. This point will also be developed in the teaching accompanying initiation.

As reiki is not linked to any religious belief and has nothing to do with any sect, it isn’t dangerous to try it.
